武田信玄(takeda shingen)

Takeda Shingen – Born as Takeda Harunobu December 1st, 1521, in now what is modern day Yamanashi.
Harunobu is celebrated as a powerful military leader for a series of skirmishes with another
well known Japanese historical figure Uesugi Kenshin between 1553-1564.

Born into the renowned Takeda clan, Harunobu assumed the role as the head of the clan and
began expanding his domain towards present day Nagano. He joined the priesthood in his 1551
and adopted the name Shingen.

Although his major battles were indecisive, he proved himself to be a powerful threat against
Oda Nobunaga and his clashes with Uesugi Kenshin are recognized in Japanese folklore.
